See so much more

We can see so much more

In the winters of our lives

The present less immediate

The distant revealed

All those leaves that obscured

All behind them have fallen

The shimmering, fluttering

That drew our eyes

That demanded our attention

Are gone now

And we can see

Not only the branches

Skeletons of support

But all that lies behind

Our eyes drawn

Now opened to the fuller

Understanding of what is

And always was

Behind our daily struggles.
